Diary : The New Year's Resolution

For the year 2015, I have some pretty easy and hopefully obtainable goals. I keep these written in my monthly planner so I won't forget it and reminded every time I look at it.

  • Have a constant flow of vlog. I tried doing daily vlog but that didn't work out.
  • Film weekly makeup tutorials! I written down a schedule on the planner on when I should film, edit, and upload those videos.
  • Do a better job at saving money by using the makeup I already own.
  • Be more organized. Which is why I brought the planner to begin with.
  • Lose 30lbs. I gained that weight over a course of several years but I like to work towards losing it.
  • Take better care of my skin and not slack on my skin care routine.
That it for my New Year's resolution. I hope I have a better year this time around.

Review : Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

Long time no blog everyone! Today's blog post would be about the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick. I found these at Walgreen and they didn't even have it out on display yet. I had to ask one of the staff if they have it in stock because they had an ad in their coupon book about it with a $1 off coupon. She went to the back and brought them out and they look very pretty.

Life Style : Being Happy

Hello everyone. Today's topic is something that is something I hold close to myself. This only happens to me for a few months and I know there have been people who is going through with what I am struggling with for a much longer period of time. My objective in this post is to offer advice on how I am dealing with this issue. Everyone is different, so the way we cope with it will vary.

Tutorial : Bigger eyes & Berry lips for Glasses

Hello everyone! It was one of those days where I just felt like filming a tutorial and decided on this topic. A lot of the times, wearing glasses makes your eyes look smaller behind frames. To combat this, I like to use a dark eyeliner to make thick lines and just a pretty highlight shade on the inner corners.

Can you see the size difference in the eyes? I just love using this eyeliner technique to create bigger eyes. The way the line is made creates an illusion that the eyes extends out more.  It looks dramatic now but once I put my glasses on, it tones down the eyeliner making it looks almost natural.

As for the filming process, it looks different from normal because I'm still trying to find the perfect place to film. Doesn't look like this one is going to work because the sun is at a weird angle that messes up the lighting when I turn my head at certain angles. Well, you'll see when you watch the video.

Please comment below for things you think I could improve on. This would be the 5th video I have recorded and I feel like I'm going towards the right direction but not exactly sure what I should settle on.

Review : ELF Mineral Face Primer in Brightening Lavender

Hello everyone! So as you guys might know, I have pretty bad dark circles. I have tried many different brands of concealers and attempted different color corrector. The latest one I am trying now is this one.

The left picture is without the concealer and the right has concealer on.

With the primer.
Without the primer.
I'm sorry if the lighting looks different in each picture. I'm using natural lighting and because I have pink walls, the camera adjust weirdly each time I move around.

With the pictures, you can tell that there's a difference in the under eyes. With the primer on you can see it's not as dark as without the primer. Yes you can still see the discoloration under the eyes but it's not as bad.

I like to apply this just around my under eye area because the rest of my face doesn't need the color correcting. Thank you for reading the blog post!

Hug and Kisses,
Diana

Tutorial : Quick 5 Minute Makeup Look

Hello everyone! So I decided it was time to do a second tutorial. Like before, please be nice and leave feedback on what you think.

I came up with this look when I was rushing for class and realize it'll be a good look to do. I used a beautiful rusty brown color that I love so much and a pretty pink to highlight my inner corner. I love Maybelline's Color Tattoo line because it's long lasting and has a lot of color selections.

Tutorial : Fall Inspired Makeup Look for Glasses

Hello everyone! So this is my first makeup tutorial so try not to be so mean about it please. I was nervous while doing my voice over if you can tell hehe. I was inspired to do this look because I have this beautiful single eye shadow by NYX in the color 112 Fahrenheit.

I received this in one of my ipsy bag and I love the color. It's a pretty copper shade with some gold shimmers in it. I don't think you can find these eye shadows anymore on their website. I went back to ipsy.com to see what link they put for purchasing more of these eye shadows and it gave an Amazon link. The link they gave doesn't have the eye shadows available anymore. An eye shadow by NYX that I think is very similar is Heat. It's a pearly copper color.

Life Style : Being careful at a nail salon

Hello again! Just a little history about me, I used to work at a nail salon for about 4 months because my mom decided I could use the experience and made me work for her friend's sister in law's nail salon. I have work with clients and learn the ways of the 'master' who taught me how to do pedicures and manicures.

Review : Sonia Kashuk Arch Alert

Today's review would be about the Sonia Kashuk arch alert brow kit~ This is a cream eyebrow kit and I love this thing. Sonia Kashuk is only available at Target for about $10. I brought this kit last year, but haven't really gotten into it since I was still into brow pencils. I decided to try this since I was lazy with sharpening the brow pencil and fell in love with it since.

Diary Entry : Getting Colder!

Helllllo~ I hope you're having a great day.

Today I actually woke up slightly cold which haven't happen in a pretty long time. Last night I couldn't find my sleeping shorts so I settle on wearing my long sweatpants which I figure was better than nothing. My boyfriend sent me a text saying he wasn't able to spend time with me today because of a work meeting so I already felt sad when I decided to get out of bed.

Yesterday I made some holubtsi which is Ukraine style stuffed cabbage. I had this for the first time at a friend's house years ago and her mom's cooking is amazing. I haven't had it for a few years but I look back and think about it every so often so I decided yesterday since I have the time and at the market, I should google and find a good recipe to follow. I came across some from the food network and some personal cooking blogs. I just started picking things and gather what I can from each recipe and made my own. The cook time was about 2 hours which I felt wasn't enough time for the sauce to really get into the stuffed cabbage so this morning I turn on the fire again on low heat after it starts boiling.

My siblings liked the holubtsi but I only made about 15 pieces since I only had 1 pound of meat to make it with. This morning I put aside 4 pieces for tomorrow's breakfast and ate two and made some pasta and mix it with the tomato sauce for breakfast.

For lunch I had a crunchy chicken wrap with lettuce, onion, sweet pepper, jalapeno, and chipotle mayo. It taste absolutely amaziiiing~ The chicken was nice and crispy and the spiciness made the meal yummy. One thing I noticed when I was eating was the lipstick coming off on wrap. It felt weird but since I was texting my boyfriend, I took a picture of the lipstick mark left on the wrap and told him this is why I can't share food. He laughed it off and said he'll still eat it. Gah I love that guy.

Review : Nailtiques Formula 2

Hello, long time no post. Today's post is about getting healthier stronger nails. I had acrylic nails for about a month. I have gotten my nail done because my nails were weak and has a hard time growing longer so I figure having acrylic on top would help it grow underneath it. Boy was I wrong...the first time the ladies at nail salon took it off, they used a fake nail and a nipper to peel it off and it took layers off my real nails which made it weaker. It was so horrible I went back a week later to get acrylic again because the nails were so much weaker and the real nails has cracks in it.

Diary Entry : Protecting Myself

I was talking to my boyfriend over Skype about random things and then a topic about feeling secure on the street came up. I live on the east coast in one of the big cities and how when I was downtown a homeless man came up to me talking about his private part. I was so uncomfortable and tried to calmly handle the situation while on the inside I want to run across the street even though it was a red light. I had an umbrella open since it was very sunny so I had that between me and the homeless man when he tried to get close to me. The moment the light changed, I raced across the street.

Diary Entry : First week of Class

Summer has been over for me for over a week now. I'm not complaining since I learn to enjoy going to class. I tend to keep to myself but I keep myself busy in the meantime. This semester I've pick classes in the afternoon so I don't have to wake up early in the morning. I've chose morning classes before and I was dead in class and wasn't able to pay attention. I spent more money on morning coffee than I would like to admit so this time I made sure I don't have to do that.

Life Style : Taking notes in college

Hello~ Today's post would be about taking notes from textbooks. I learn this from a teacher I had in middle school who said this skill would be useful when I attend college and truthfully it has help me.

Review : Koji Accent Eyelash Curler

My first thought when I saw this was ohhh it's so cute and hmmm...I wonder how well this works. I found this little curler at an makeup store in NYC's Chinatown when I was in the city for July 4. Because of the small compact size I could easily fit it into my makeup bag for whenever I need to retouch the curls.

Review : Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick + Swatches

These lipstick are very popular and it comes in 82 different shades with the crème, matte, pearl, and shine finishes to fit each occasion and mood. Weirdly enough when I was looking at the finishes I have while taking picture for the post, I don't have any matte finishes. These retails from $4.99 to about $9 depending on your location. I started to build my collection slowly and I brought my first red lipstick (Fire & Ice) and fell in love with this collection. To see all the shades that's available, click here.

Random : July ipsy bag

Hello again! Today's post would be about my lovely ipsy bag. This month's little makeup bag is hot pink with some cut out fabric on the sides. Not exactly my favorite bag they release. When I saw the hints they've been dropping on their facebook page, I was pretty much disappointed. I would probably put this aside until I need a bag to hold small things.

Review : Neutrogena beach defense water + sun barrier lotion SPF 70

I received this sunscreen for free when I was asking questions to one of Target's beauty consult and in the end she gave me two of these sunscreen and some sample of pixi's primer and a serum from one of their new lines. It is a small trial size (1 fl) and cost $1.99 and the full size (6.7 fl) cost $9.99.

Review : Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Creme Bronzer

This bronzer is one of my holy grail item. It's matte with a brown tone rather than orange and like its name, undetectable. Sonia Kashuk is a Target brand so it might be a bit hard to get your hands on it. At my local Target it cost $10.99 and to me, it's worth every penny for the result I can get with it.

Review : The Face Shop Herb Day Lip & Eye Remover Waterproof

Hello! Today's item is something I picked up from The Face Shop while I was in NYC for July 4. I want to try a new makeup remover to see if it can go against my holy grail Maybelline clean express waterproof makeup remover. The first thing I noticed was the layers were separated just like Maybelline's and I heard from a youtuber that it's better if it is and so far it's kind of true.
